Yes, he is an entertaining person who is limited to starting every line he gives with an "oy" and and a "look here see?" However, how exactly could a dude from England be a guy from Hell's Kitchen?(not the tv show)

He is fine as a tough guy, but pretty terrible and giving anything other than the "I'm the greatest person in the world" act, which is fine in smaller roles but terrible as a lead role. His movies have been on the same level as Dennis Rodman's. Yeah, I said it.

I see what you are saying, but we always get that...I think you can have a really good super hero movie that doesn't have to be a blockbuster. I think the blindness shows an inherent and human vulnerability that is lacking in movies we see today. It can ad a sense of drama without seeming manufactured.

Terrible choice. Don't really like him, mostly because of his choice of movies.

IESB.net tells us they caught up with Ben Affleck and asked him if he would be interested in a Daredevil sequel. Here's a clip:

Ben would consider going back to Daredevil just as long as Fox would negotiate to tell some of the darker storylines. He would like to see a big screen adaptation of Kevin's graphic novel that included "Mysterio" or maybe even "Born Again". He believes that these story lines might me a bit obscure for 20th Century Fox and may require some negotiations.

Re: Jason Statham and Frank Miller to do Daredevil sequel?

i dont mind statham because i love lock stock and snatch. however, outside of the performance he did in those films, his career has been on the ****ty side.

but why statham. affleck i thought did a good job as daredevil. what sucked in the first film was electra imo. turned a potentially good movie into a level just below mediocrity

Re: Jason Statham and Frank Miller to do Daredevil sequel?

I think I'm giving Affleck an unfair hard time about the movie. Simply, I think Affleck is a bit of a joke (yes, I saw Gigli), and that the movie itself was pretty mediocre..

So if Affleck wants to do it, good for him. I don't mind him or Statham really..

Re: Jason Statham and Frank Miller to do Daredevil sequel?

Ben Affleck admits he didn't like the Daredevil movie much either

Quote:
It was a rough time for Affleck, and nine years later, though he doesn't regret anything, he's owning up to it.

"I made a bunch of movies that didn't work. I was ending up in the tabloids. I don't know what the lesson is, except that you just have to find your compass.

"I liked Sum of All Fears. Daredevil I didn't at all. Some movies should have worked and didn't. At a certain point, it's just up to the movie gods. Anyway, this image becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. And I just said, 'I don't want to do it anymore. This is horrible. I don't want to be in this spotlight, this glare, in this way. It's tawdry, it's ugly, it's oppressive, and it's inane. So I'm going to try to get away.'

"And most of the way I did that was by not acting. I said, 'I'm going to steer myself toward directing. I'm going to do something that takes me toward a place where the work that I do is reflective of what I think is interesting dramatically.'"

One of the stops on the way to Affleck's reinvention after the failure of Daredevil was, ironically enough, putting on another superhero costume when he played George Reeves (star of the classic Superman TV series) in the '50s drama Hollywoodland. Reeves was also an actor frustrated by his career trajectory, a similarity that Affleck still reflects on.

"You know, putting on the uncomfortable, cheesy suit--I understood that. And I understood what it was like to feel limited by perceptions and having ambitions to do things that were more interesting.

"And also, I got married, and I got older. And had kids. You know, the current of the river of life moves you downstream anyway. But I definitely reject the narrative that says, you know, Bad Guy Turned It Around. My life isn't Behind the Music. I wasn't a criminal!"

Affleck has totally redeemed himself IMO. Looking forward to anything he has going on down the road.

Re: Jason Statham and Frank Miller to do Daredevil sequel?

Marvel regained the rights to the franchise

Quote:
Fox's agreement to retain the film rights to the franchise were contingent on a new film being in the works by Oct. 10, and with that deadline lapsed, the rights have reportedly reverted back to Marvel. Daredevil's last outing at Fox was the critically panned 2003 effort starring Ben Affleck in the title role, which proved so bad that it put the character on ice ever since.
Now that sounds promising.

Quote:
With Daredevil back in Marvel's stable, there's no telling what could come next. The most obvious option would be a modern-day reboot set in the shared universe of The Avengers (hey, Daredevil did just join The New Avengers in the comic continuity), but anything is possible.

Acclaimed director Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Narc) famously made a run at Matt Murdock as the clock ticked down at Fox, but the arms struck midnight before a deal could be completed.
This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
