Re: Favreau on Ironman 2: "April 2010 release date unrealistic"
I don't know if I like either choice.
I think they should look to get someone who's proven but not A-list yet to fill the roles. Plus if we're going A-list for Cap, I'd rather have Matt Damon play the part.

If Triple H could act, he was my choice for Thor. Pitt still needs to put on some weight for the role
And Damon is a very good candidate for Cap, same as Wahlberg. Di Caprio still needs to add some beef, plus he looks too good

Marvel will do what they can to keep talent costs low. They'll inevitably have a good script, hopefully with Iron Man actually fighting bad guys and not just one antiquated Dude Machine. I just can't see why everyone is going nuts about this movie. Yes it had great dialog and fantastic acting, but the whole damn thing was RDJ building a robot, beating up two dozen bad dudes and The Dude. They need to make more things go boom in the sequel.
What they should do is make the sequel in 3-D!

I thought the flick was about as good as it could be being that iron man is missing his quintessential villian. |

Re: Favreau on Ironman 2: "April 2010 release date unrealistic"
Maybe he could have fought a smaller version of the Dude's Iron man and barely beat it when he had full energy. Then fight a larger version of it when he has no energy. That would be my way to go. The Dude isn't hands on and he can not only operate the robot with ease, but is as good at operating it as the guy who created it?!? That makes no sense. ****, how about he fought 5 of the robots while the army was shooting at him?

What we're saying is he directed a movie that was a huge financial success and helped start off Marvel Films on the right foot. The proper way to handle business is to reward him for the financial windfall by paying him more for the next film instead of being cheap (which is why they went with him in the first place). Marvel is not only looking to not pay him a raise, but to try and push out a movie by a certain date when they don't even have a script for the second film started. It's showing that they are more worried about reaching release dates than having good films.
