You don't have to be a visionary though. You just have to be a good director who's passionate enough about the original source material so that you won't completely *******ize the film.

Iron Man news and more

The partnership extends a 2005 agreement that saw Paramount agreeing to distribute as many as 10 Marvel films. In the original agreement, Marvel retained six key international markets and sold the rights to local distributors. After "Iron Man," Marvel's first self-produced movie, flew to $574 million worldwide in the summer, both parties decided to bolt down a more concrete agreement.

i almost had hope too. iron man and dark knight i thought would be enough to show the industry how to make a decent comic book movie but no, ****ing marvel studios has to be a complete utter douche

That is a really short time to make Iron Man 2, and I think the better strategy would have been to release Captain America and Thor in '10, The Avengers in early '11, Iron Man 2 in late '11, and then move on from there. That way you basically have the principal characters introduced over the course of 3 years (Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor) leading up to an Avengers movie, and then after The Avengers movie kicks ***, you give the public another sweet Iron Man movie by Favreau.

Cheadle In, Howard Out

Robert Downey Jr. is, of course, back as the titular metal-suited man, and Gwyneth Paltrow is also expected to reprise the role of his assistant, Pepper Potts. Jon Favreau returns to the director's chair.

No start date has been set, though Iron Man 2 has been slated for release in April 2010.

i dont blame howard. a lot of his scenes were cut from the product shown in theatre.

I do. You would think with all the ****ty non relavent movies he's found himself in that he'd jump at the chance to play a more substantial part in what will undoubtedly be one of the highest grossing sequels out there. With Marvels current plan of a paralled movie to movie universe Howard could have found himself with a popular and recurring character whereby even if it wasn't as lucrative a payday as he might have wanted for IM2 he most certainly would find himself with consistently big money for now and in the future. Stupid move Howard.

Don's a better actor anyway...even though I do like Howard.

Hollywood only goes to a select group of black actors for major gigs, its a shame really. As for Rhodes size, Jamie Foxx has it.
