First off, this is a half season. Not a full season.

Secondly, there has been character development throughout the entire series. The only thing left now is for this to play out.

I also think Walt was lying about quitting. He set something good up in the same episode - and after all he had been through to get to that point. He's too power hungry to quit all a sudden finding out from Skyler he had so much money. It hasn't been about the money either for awhile.

Na Walt wasn't lying. He went in wanting to redeem himself for selling his Gray Matter shares, and then he made more he could spend. Seeing that big money pile was kind of an epiphany.

Question is about how Walt gets out. I can see Lydia taking over Vamanos Pest near the end.

I figured he was just saying that to Skylar because she said she was near the breaking point basically with regard to not seeing the kids... he needs Skylar to keep her shit together, I assumed he was going to lie to her and keep his aspirations of building an empire alive.

Just finally caught up with this show. Holy shit, what an incredible show. After being able to watch it continuously, the fact that I have to wait until next summer for the final eight episodes is going to suck.
