OK, I saw The Hobbit last night and found two disturbing items (aside from Radagast's buffoonery). Well, maybe two examples of one disturbing trend, movie cross-licensing. I mean, it's really cool and all when characters from one movie/TV show show up in another (like Bruce Lee as Kato showing up on the old Batman TV show), but Jackson made some truly bizarre choices in this regard. First, Thorin Oakenshield is apparently being chased across Middle Earth by Christian Bale's Batman. Though now Batman is a villain and the king of the Moria orcs (is Thorin's new name Jokershield?). But he's still shouting everything in that same guttural/vocal fried voice, so it's gotta be him. On the bright side they learned from Nolan's mistake and include subtitles so that we can understand what the **** Batman is saying. The second weird cross happens after the Dwarves are captured by the goblin army, who take them before their king. Who turns out to be a Ballchinnian from MIB2.

How did they choose the breaking point to end the first movie?

He also doesn't get to build his courage/character throughout all the trials along the way, and the company of dwarfs never comes to trust and respect him or the Hobbit race.

i made the mistake and watched this movie in HFR 3D, which completely sucked. the image is pretty sharp, to a point where everything looks fake. reminiscing prerendered video clips in computer games.

i felt some parts were overly stretched. the radagast character was completely useless and jarjarbinks strange.

i which they had shown more from the dwarf fortress, which looked amazing from the inside.
