re: The Walking Dead
Someone who has watched the second episode, said they will focus more on the survival aspects and cut down on suspense.

re: The Walking Dead
The show only made it like 2 and a half issues into the series so far even with the extended runtime. I like that they expanded on the characters somewhat. The bits they added were more entertaining than they weren't. As much as people usually clamour for exact translations it's not a method that has seen much success. The comic's dialogue was notorious for coming off as unrealistic so I'm guessing the additions were done so in an attempt to compensate. Fleshing out the lesser characters will allow this show to keep it's legs during the neccesary down periods and will make the events that happen all the more effective especially in Shane's case.

re: The Walking Dead
Great show, already one of my favorites overall and especially for this season. I gotta go back to watch Mad Men from season 1.

re: The Walking Dead
I only saw the first episode but it's working for me. Usually horror movies don't bother me but this hit on my claustrophobia. The scene where Shane crawls under the tank had my skin crawling.. that was really really well done. I'll most likely be caught up before tomorrow night's episode.

re: The Walking Dead
Frank Darabont is a ****ing idiot and has been wiping his ass with the source material since the opening scenes. I'd honestly punch him in the face if I ever met him.

re: The Walking Dead
I'm really confused with what the guy's doing. I said earlier that we didn't necessarily need to see an exact frame for frame translation, but damn....for someone who waxes on so much about the source material Darabont sure did his best to bury the better parts of all the OG's major plot points. The show itself isn't terrible on it's own, but what a frustrating direction to take for people who are familiar with the comic.

re: The Walking Dead
We'll see, but they're pretty ****ed up right now that's for sure. Obviously it was writers trying to make a name for themselves.
The CDC? What the ****? All these new characters? Come on. And Rick is the one whos holding out on the idea of the military finding them and Shane is the one arguing that the military is gone? Thats 100% backwards from how it went. As I said, if I never read the source, then I'd like this show a lot more. But right now they're trying to follow a formula of what they think people would like way too much. There's a reason everyone raves about The Walking Dead trade, and its not because of TV show writers that's for sure. Shane needs to die, they need to find Tyrone, and make their way to the prison in season 2. I really hope the CDC isn't their version of the prison.

re: The Walking Dead
I haven't read the comics, but I think this series has been fantastic so far, especially the most recent episode, which did such a remarkable job of showing the true terror these people are going through.
