Saw it last night and, as i thought, a pretty forgetable movie that doesn't add much (or nothing) to the franchise.

This movie improved on the original trilogy in some interesting ways but also fell kind of flat at the end to me.

It was OK. The chemistry between Garfield and Stone carried this movie through some of the slower parts. Loved the casting of Martin Sheen and Sally Field. It had a slightly darker tone, which was good. But they kinda went away from that with some of the cheesy news reports towards the end of the movie, which gave me SM3 flashbacks. Connors hearing voices seemed out of place too, like they just said "well the bad guy in SM1 heard voices too, so **** it let's go with it."

It was definitely better than SM3. Hopefully Sony gets a good script for the sequel because the chemistry between Stone and Garfield isn't going to be able to carry an entire trilogy. Especially if they kill off Stone's character like in the comics. A lot will presumably have to happen in the next movie- Parker presumably going to college, Stacy's death, him getting a job at the newspaper. Unless they cram a bunch of shit into the third movie like they did last time.

^ I believe in the comics both Connors and Osborn hear voices from their respective evil counterparts. So I think in both cases they were just incorporating something from the comics.

I doubt they kill Gwen in the next movie. The post-credits scene strongly hinted that the next villain would be Electro.

Electro would be interesting, I was hoping they wouldn't go Goblin or Dr. Oc again.

I wasn't sure about the timeline for Gwen's death as I'm not too familiar with the comics, just that she dies at some point.

The lightning and thunder. And the fact that they occur at exactly two moments: when the guy in the shadows appears, and when he disappears.

Columbia Pictures has confirmed (via Variety) that Webb will direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (imaginative title, that), with Andrew Garfield also set to reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone "in talks" to return as Gwen Stacy.
