I've been secretly hoping JGL would get cast in B3 once Nolan worked with him. I'm just not sure about wanting to see the Riddler though. Depends on the storyline. I think he could pull it off without question. He's great in everything I've seen him in (Brick, 500 Days, Manic, Lookout, etc). Even in that crap movie, GI Joe, he was lone bright spot.

I also kinda want to see a more physical threat to Batman though. After being impressed with Tom Hardy in Inception, I watched him in Bronson and he blew me away. I'd love to see him in a role like that.

JGL IMO is one of the best actor is Hollywood and his career is almost going on the EXACT seem route Ledger was at the time he got casted as Joker so i really do hope JGL get The Riddler role remember Ledger wasnt a great casting when he got casted but look what that turn into

Johnny Depp as the Riddler would just be Johnny Depp doing the same schtick he's been doing for what seems like a decade now.

I support Depp as long as he is George Jung. He snorts Scarecrow's dust.

He could be funny as Gotham's mayor or something, leading the charge against Batman while Gordon ostensibly does as well.

I actually wouldn't be completely against an original villain (ala Mask of Phantasm) to put against Batman, but that would probably upset a lot of people.

I feel the same way. Two-Face is a good stand alone villain, if necessary.

^Two-Face would work, if they didn't freakin kill the guy in the last movie. WTF was Nolan doing. And I wonder if they're gonna make the next villain more 'gritty'. Maybe The Riddler could be a crackhead. Or they could get some big ass dude to play Bane, who's also a crackhead.

I don't think I knew who he was before Inception, but was also impressed. I definitely have to see him in some other films.

I completely agree. It would be predictable. Ledger was great as The Joker because when you watched you saw The Joker and not Ledger at all. In the case of The Riddler and Depp I would probably just be seeing Depp being himself.

I think the riddler is really the only way to go in terms of bringing in marquee villians from the comic..I think the riddler would translate well into nolans vision of the batman universe, and i personally think that the penguin would just be retarded..i hated the penguin in Batman Returns

Call me crazy, but isn't that confirmation that The Riddler will be in Batman 3? They basically said, "The Riddler won't be the film's central villain." Meaning, "The Riddler will be in Batman 3, but he won't be the main villain."

That's what I got out of it.
