Finally, the source discussed the film, and in what is interesting news, the film doesn't look to be a sequel or a reboot, instead, it is being described as "just a Superman movie." According to the source…

"This Superman is neither a reboot or a sequel. It's just a Superman film. The basic elements of the storyline are: BIG action, BIG set-pieces, witty dialogue, playful romance, a light-hearted feelgood mood juxtaposed with derring-do and danger, top-notch cast, epic feel, sci-fi background (sounds a little like Donner, right?) BUT with some sort of huge twist on the legend."

Yeah, I remember Jmk mentioning him and it totally clicked.

Jon Hamm and Christopher Nolan just might be enough to get me interested in this ****ing bore of a character.

Hamm is old as ****. I could see it working if they did a Kingdom Come type of old superman.

I agree though, hes got the look. I think he'd be a great Superman as long as they weren't trying to make him seem younger than he is.

Expect to see at least five shots of Superman flying through the air in slow-motion, and then abruptly flying at superspeed, then back in slow-motion.

Most likely while an explosion is going on behind him.

Like him as a person. He's a cool dude. That Superman movie sucked though.

It doesnt matter who the director is, the problem is how they go about it. First of all Superman is a pretty boring character, then there's this lets tell his origins story crap, by now pretty much everyone knows that. If I were writing this, I'd go full blown crisis, lotsa nice juicy stories to go with, like the one where he died, could even tell the story backwards that way. Sick of all origin stories

There haven't been any good characters in the Superman movies in a while. Plus, you can't replace Reeves that easy...He was an icon..He was superman. It is like Someone else playing Indiana Jones or Han Solo. It is a real hard chore. For that reason you have to have either a kick ass villain or a kick ass Side kick.

Zack Snyder hasn't directed a movie that's worth watching a second time and the main reason is him. Too much style.

Also I always have to fight back when people say Superman is a boring character. In the right hands he's a great character. The problem is people tend to want him to simply punch things and be strong. There's a lot of vulnerability there and great writers have exposed it in the past.

Aronofsky would have been too perfect. They dropped the ball on this one. Snyder doesn't know how to edit himself.
