Granted, Aronofsky would have been been better than Snyder, but they could have done a lot worse. Now I am curious as to who will get the part of Superman. Fingers crossed for the rumor of Jon Hamm being true.

The only step down would be Michael Bay. Snyder made the Watchmen nearly unwatchable. 300 was a botched abortion.

I really wish someone would have the balls to go back to some of the old Jerry Siegel Superman stories, because he created some absolutely fantastic stories (including a great one about Superman being unable to save his father, doubly touching when you think of where the character came from).

Snyder will pull off some nice action scenes, come to think of it, I think he would be great for a Street Fighter movie.

His action scenes are the worst parts of his movies.

There's a rifftrax for 300? Yeah, baby, I know what I'm doing tonight.

Superman gets a makeover

http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/crush/sup...r-makeover/488

Quote:
Superman has a new look, and the redrawn Man of Steel now more closely resembles a a vampiric Robert Pattinson or a sulky member of My Chemical Romance than a hunky matinee idol.

The new Superman will appear in "Superman: Earth One," a graphic novel by writer J. Michael Straczynski and artist Shane Davis that retells the superhero's origin story. While the iconic superhero retains his dark mane and defined six pack, he now has a decidedly more emo vibe -- pale, leaner, and brooding. (No need to get too worked up, Superman loyalists: This new graphic novel series doesn't replace the original comics, but rather will serve as a "reinterpretation" of his younger years.)

DC Comics co-publisher Dan DiDio described the graphic novel -- in book stores November 2 -- with adjectives more typically used to hype new CW dramas.

"We wanted to tell a story that's hip, sexy, and moody," he said.
The modern media fails again.

I bet he sparkles and dates 16 year olds but it isn't creepy even though he's much older.

Bump, because Superman has been cast:

Quote:
British actor Henry Cavill has reportedly been cast in the title role in Warner Bros.' Superman reboot to be directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan.

SUPERMAN is AMERICAN.

Eh, I don't care enough about this movie to really care about who is Superman, anyway.

Of course, it should have been Jon Hamm, obviously.
