I know Rodriguez has been saying this has happened with no result for a while, but it finally looks like this is getting made.

My Dad's best friend was in the first one and evidently the character he played had a fairly large role in the comics. Heres to hoping he doesn't get replaced for the second one if they follow suit with keeping relatively true to the comics.

Sin City 1 is criminally underrated. And I say that not even liking the way Robert Rodriguez operates. That movie was excellent.

Yup. Dude needs the work too. After 24 he got some roles leading up to being offered the role of the cop in the "do you want to know which of your friends are cowards" scene in the Dark Knight. His agent recommended he hold out for more money, they quickly dropped him and its been a rough patch ever since. Career suicide.

Bet a nice part in Sin City 2 would do him a world of good. Unfortunately though I'm thinking if it's too big a part though they'd probably be compelled to cast a face.

Included with the official announcement for JGL's involvement was this tidbit about his character and his story:

Look who's taking over for Clive Owen as Dwight in Sin City 2

In Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill" (featured in the film Frank Miller's Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.

Interesting. Let's see how they make this work.
