Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Some of these third sequels you're dismissing weren't that bad. The Godfather 3, Terminator.. at least, no one has said The Matrix.

Disappointed that I'm the only one showing love for Back to the Future. Doc Brown would be ashamed of all of you.

I love listing things

  1. The Lord of the Rings - first by a nose
  2. Toy Story - each movie was better than the previous one
  3. Bourne
  4. The Vengeance Trilogy (Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance)
  5. Hannibal Trilogy (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal)
  6. Indiana Jones

Those are the only ones that did not have a weak link. Here's my list for trilogies where one or two of the movies is not very good (IMO):
  1. Godfather
  2. Alien
  3. Original Star Wars
  4. X-Men
  5. Back to the Future
  6. Spider-Man
  7. Star Wars Prequels
  8. Matrix
  9. Die Hard
  10. Terminator
  11. Blade
  12. Scream
  13. Mad Max
  14. Pirates of the Caribbean
  15. Austin Powers
  16. Major League
  17. Mighty Ducks

Back to the Future is Awesome... the third one didnt quite live up to the standards of the first two but was still a solid movie

I do not like Jedi very much. The Ewoks were not a good turn in the series for me.

Completely forgot that one. I would put Major League above the Mighty Ducks for sure.

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Can't believe I forgot about Back to the Future. Those are some of my all time favorite movies.

Also Xmen and Pirates of the Caribbean would definitely be on my list too.

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

I've got to go with the Godfather - the first two are so much better than just about anything else we're talking about that the fact that the third one was kind of meh should be forgiven

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

The Godfather is the most overrated movie ever. Peer pressure makes people act like it's better than it really is.
