Im sorry but having read the books before watching the movies made me biased, I think the first movie of LOTR was the best and I didnt think the third was all that great...

The first movie was the most complete of the three, but the third had such spectacle that went unmatched for a decade.

Godfather 2 suffers from a lack of spaceships and superpowers. The Empire Strikes Back is devoid of such obvious flaws.

I love Tolkien as a writer and enjoyed the books, but the movies didn't do it for me. They turned Frodo into a whiney bitch, much of the dialog was pretty cheeseball and the 3rd movie dragged on unmercifully.
