Favorite movie trilogy?

Anyone ever thought of their favorite movie trilogy? I was having this discussion a while back and realized that mine is the Ocean's trilogy.

Any thoughts?

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Tough call.

I honestly think I've enjoyed the Mass Effect trilogy story more than any movie trilogy. If not, I'd go with original Star Wars.

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Does Indiana Jones still count as a trilogy (I'm hoping we can ignore that last movie)?

If it does, it is up there with Star Wars and Back to the Future for me.

Toy Story. Each one was better than the last.

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Toy Story is another good nomination. Although I thought the 2nd was the weakest of the three.

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Alien trilogy for real though. Third one sucks but the strength of the first two puts it over any others.

Bourne triology is pretty good I think, Lord of the Rings as well.

Alien and Bourne have my vote. Although some really good nominees.

Surprised none of the rest of us mentioned LOTR.

Spiderman and Batman were good as well.

Re: Favorite movie trilogy?

Can I count Harry Potter 6, 7a, and 7b as a trilogy? That would be my second favorite 3 movie set next to the original Star Wars.

If we use the logic that the strength of the first two movies can carry the third, then The Godfather should win.
