Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
That's because they all sucked. We tried really hard to convince ourselvs that these films were good but in reality, they were terribly scripted, mediocrely acted with a good SFX budget that was wasted on terrible sequences other than Wolverine stabbing a bunch of special forces dudes and the Nightcrawler opening sequence.

I didn't mind the first one.
Could have just been the whole "Finally, a Marvel movie!" type of feeling.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
Those were my thoughts when I finally accepted the fact that I didn't like the xmen movies. The best story from these movies is Magneto's in First Class because of the whole Nazi back story. I really wish they made these movies good. I love the comics and the animated series. If only they brought that to the screen in an offensive overuse of violence fodder for these uber powerful mutants. Is that so hard to ask for? Obviously X-Men takes place outside of our current reality but in a similar time thread. Because of this, they could easily add in Sentinels and connect the pre-WWII Nazi theme to Magneto's rage.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
I'm giddy about the idea of Sentinels on the big screen. They were Terminators before there were Terminators. This movie has GOT to include them, doesn't it? As I understand it, they are the main villains in the Days of Future Past storyline. If they aren't included, then this would be another classic X-Men story (the first being Dark Phoenix) ruined.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
I really never got the appeal behind the sentinels.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
They were cool until they over saturated the X-Men universe. I think they were the main villain in like 50% of the 90's XMen cartoons.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
Imagine having a giant robot trying to collect mutants while they blast the crap out of them. What is not to like? On top of that they're the nazi ss. Hence why Magneto has to wreck them in the face.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
Is Nights in White Satin going to be the theme song?

Fox exec reveals why Matthew Vaughn REALLY left that X-Men sequel
According to Fox consultant Mark Millar: Quote:

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
Nope, but his premise for the movie doesn't sound all that original. Quickly thought of MIB, The Matrix, and Wanted as movies where dudes living ordinary lives get plucked out of nowhere and get turned into a badass of some sort.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
Or even Wild Target, which had the added benefit of being extremely funny. Christ, Matt Vaughn complaining about being ripped off, what a laugh.
