McKellan praises Fassbender's interpretation of Magneto.

Quote:
He called his performance "first class." He continued, "I thought he was better than me."
He also had some fun stuff to say about being back in the mix.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past

When Entertainment Weekly asked Stewart about Singer's big reveal, the actor tried to play dumb with a coy "I have no idea what you're talking about." When that didn't work, he said he's excited about the movie but doesn't know a thing about the plot.

Quote:
Bryan let the cat out of the bag on Twitter, and it included announcing that Sir Ian and myself were going to be in this movie. We are, you know, under contractual oath with 20th Century Fox to say nothing about any prospective X-Men movie including the old team. I use 'old' advisedly.
So it's a kind of awkward position, because lovely Bryan Singer just blurted it all out there. For me the big thrill is knowing that Bryan Singer is attached to this movie, because not only is he a brilliant director, but also I adore him and hope that it might be true and that we do work together at some point in the future. But I'm not being coy. I know nothing about this project. And I'm hoping that might change in the future.

I don't know that we're doing it. I have not signed a contract yet. I know there is a project in development, but we have no dates. No detailed casting. Thrilled to hear that my dear friend and colleague Ian McKellen is on board, but I'm sorry, you know, you need to understand, I'm not being cute. I know nothing.
Sounds like it's still almost certain to me.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past

X2 star wonders why he hasn't gotten a call for Days of Future Past

Quote:
When it comes to the original X-Men trilogy, X2 was arguably the best entry. Not only because of its story, but because of the introduction of one of our favorite characters—Nightcrawler. The blue monk with yellow eyes was played by Scottish actor Alan Cumming. While promoting his latest film, Any Day Now, Cumming revealed that he wouldn't mind reprising his mutant role.

"I haven't gotten the call. I think they would have called by now," Cumming said. "It was funny, that film, because I really like it and everyone really responded to Nightcrawler and enough time has elapsed that I would like to go back to it... I think it's one of the films I'd been in that I think of as really good."

Cummings' Nightcrawler was one of the best comic-to-screen adaptations. He had the look and the accent down to a science. Plus, who can forget that opening scene in the White House? We'd love to see him again.

So how could he fit into the sequel? In the comics, Nightcrawler's the son of Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Azazel (Jason Flemyng). And both characters appeared in X-Men: First Class.
I always thought this storyline would be a slam dunk after Azazel showed up in the last movie.

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past

Prior to the release of First Class a lot of us wondered about two things: Professor X's walking and his luscious locks.

McAvoy revealed that his character's hair loss is a topic of discussion for Days.

Quote:
"[Screenwriter] Simon Kinberg and I had a chat about it and we came up with a whole bunch of idea about how, why and where he might go bald. It's got to be linked to the plot though," McAvoy explained.

"In the comics, he lost his hair as soon as his powers awakened, and we clearly didn't follow the source material. It can't just be that he looks in the mirror at the end of the film and goes 'Oh [frick], I'm losing my hair'.
It will be interesting to see how they work this in.

Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore to return as Rogue, Shadowcat, and Iceman, respectively:

Hmm is this really a sequel to First Class or is it X-Men 4? Either way, this is probably good news.

Sentinels officially confirmed by Mark Millar

Quote:
"I don’t really want to give too much away, but the Sentinels are a big feature of this story," Millar revealed. "They will be cool and this will deliver on all of the teasers. We’ve all been waiting for this ever since X-Men: The Last Stand showed us one of their heads. Now it is finally coming, and we only have to pay ten quid to see it in the cinema, whereas they’re having to pay $100 million to deliver it. So I’m delighted [laughs].”
This was already semi-revealed previously, but this comes straight from the horse's mouth.

The sad part is that they have already murdered the franchise to the point that I'm not really all that inclined to go see it in the theaters. I'll probably do what I did with First Class and see it at home, when it comes to HBO.

You don't think First Class resuscitated the franchise?

Re: X-Men: Days of the Future Past

Calling it right now - Charles Xavier is revealed to be losing his hair in the shower. As happens any time in almost any movie ever when a character has to be shown realizing that he's lost his hair. A scene of him getting in the shower. And then somehow it leads to OMG lots of hair in the drain of it. I must be going bald!
