Just like Nicholson's Joker was iconic and couldn't be outdone right...

A middle aged Luke can work. Put him at 50ish and call it a day. It's Star Wars, no one cares. They will care if you dump Luke because he's 10 years older than the time frame when you can move the time frame a few years to make it work.

I'm just gonna have to agree to disagree with you guys. Having seen Star Wars IV-VI countless times since I was a kid, I can't imagine anyone else playing Luke, Leia, Han, etc. Those actors have become part of my childhood, tbh.

And being around 5 when I first saw it, the quality of acting didn't matter to me and still doesn't. Some people actually find the campiness to be part of the original trilogy's appeal.

You have a bad attitude.

You know who else had a bad attitude? Uncle Owen. And look at him, he's ****ing dead. Took Aunt Veroo with him too.

You know who else had a bad attitude? Gredo. And yep, ****ing dead too.

Think about that shit for a minute. I'm off to Hitashi's to pick up some power converters.

Bro, it matters to everyone. Coming from the other side of the planet, lemme say this: Luke isn't Mark. Luke is just some blond haired, blue eyes dude with a Lightsaber. Anyone can scream when their hand gets cut off.

Vader, on the other hand, is a global icon. Growing up, Vader was the man. Luke was just some actor.

I hope they make the next Star Wars with a completely different cast, except Vader. After all, that shot from the Millenium Falcon only caused his TIE Fighter to go into a tailspin. I know he's still alive.

Also, bring back Chewie and Boba Fett. He survived the sand monster. He had to.

Re: Disney Buys Lucasfilm. Star Wars Episode VII Set for 2015

To me, the only iconic characters from Star Wars are clearly Darth Vader and to an extent Han Solo. When I think Harrison Ford, I think Han Solo, Indiana Jones and the President. Only other actor I can recall seeing in another movie was Carrie Fisher in When Harry Met Sally.

Carrie Fisher also had a small role in Blues Brothers.

It's going to be twenty years after the original trilogy, so no Vader.

Boba Fett did survive the sand monster in the books, but they are not following the books, so it looks like he won't be back either.

Wait, either I have no idea what you're talking about, or you're really confused. You do know that there were two other movies after A New Hope right?

At first I thought you were being serious with that and that you didn't know about Episodes 5 and 6. But then I saw your mention of Luke getting his hand cut off.

Sry brain fart. No Vader.

Boba Fett was just a costume though. They could easily bring him back, or just make another like Jango. Since he's so popular, that's not really a stretch.

Re: Disney Buys Lucasfilm. Star Wars Episode VII Set for 2015

Harrison Ford is apparently open to coming back as Han Solo in a new series of Star Wars movies.

Quote:
Ford will only strap on Han's blaster if he gets a death scene.
Also...

Quote:
Ford is not only receptive about coming back, but is said to be "upbeat" about it, although a writer and director have to be in place for the 2015 film before he'll officially talk about a deal. That same source added that fellow stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are also optimistic about an encore appearance.

Nope.

I'd like to see them turn Boba Fett from a glorified stunt double to an actual character.

I don't care for any of the cast. Unless they somehow clone Mace Windu, Darth Maul, or General Grevious.
