As for the new Star Wars installment, the companies only would say that Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy would be executive producer on Episode 7 and any more Star Wars movies, and Lucas would serve as creative consultant. There was no indication about where the story would pick up, though technically in the franchise’s chronology it would follow Star Wars: Episode 6 — Return Of The Jedi, the third film in the initial trilogy that came out in 1983.

I wonder exactly what is included in the deal. Likely it is just the studio. The catalog must be worth a very substantial sum all by itself.

Star Wars has tanked because the company became too reliant on Lucas himself. Nobody would veto bad ideas from him. That explained the Jar Jar Binks fiasco. It could explain the Hayden Christianson casting. And the progressively worse scriptwriting.

Except for the folks who will get canned, everyone wins here.

Unlike 95% of people, I think that the prequels were well done. They aren't without their flaws, but for me they close out the story in a satisfying way. So I'm skeptical about an Episode VII. Are they going to continue what's already been finished in the first six films? Or are they going to start up a new, completely unrelated story set in the EU?

I'm curious to see the concept for the next trilogy. I don't think enough time passed between the events of I/II/III and IV/V/VI to warrant a trilogy, nor would it make sense logically either. I feel like they would go for a direct sequel from the first six. That is the material that the most people will have a frame of reference before because of the familiar characters.

I hated him the first time i saw the movies, but ive grown to just moderately dislike him since. While he portrayed anakin as a whiney little bitch, he was probably right because teenagers are whiney little bitches.
