Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
Surely you're joking or you just don't remember it accurately. Maybe nostalgia is clouding your memory. It wasn't even an ending. It was stopped short and some text was put up on the screen.
Watch this great scene and then how it's ruined by the text at the end:

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
it's an interesting choice, but it leaves a whole other movie to be made which maybe he should of or could of made instead of the shite parade that came after
to me it's indicative of one of his short comings which is he gets too clever and clings to that trick ending rather than really developing anything by way of character - the ending becomes the point almost certainly Tarantino has played with structural experimentation but his enthusiasms are so strong and his gift for dialogue so joyful that many sins are forgiven and yet none of this is the point because we've gone onto who is the better film make and the original question was 'who is cooler?' and that remains not a close comparison |

This is funny. At least it all makes sense now. I seriously thought people were saying that they dislike a clearly great scene.

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
I saw Django unchained today.
Was dissapointed. Was expecting this. Maybe unchained meant he shaved the moustache?

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
BTW, if anyone is interested, Shyamalan's new film actually looks like it might be pretty cool. Heads up though, the trailer has a twist ending.
Oh yeah, and on the subject of Tarantino, Will Smith actually turned down the lead role in Django to star in After Earth with his son.

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
This is everything wrong with Tarantino. All of his movies are jibber jabber for no reason other than to stretch out the run time. Then he does a bunch of close ups with reaction shots to pretend that there is tension when in fact they're just talking about nothing. It's not pithy or clever. It's like being stuck talking to that guy at a party who thinks he's brilliant and keeps spewing nonsense at you and all you are thinking is how to get away from him. On top of that, the violence is the point in the movie rather than Necessary part. It's violence porn.

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
It's not just the language, it's also the violence as the point odd his movies rather than a necessary plot device. Killing, torture, maiming are all a part of his violence porn flicks, except for Jackie Brown that movie just stunk

Violence porn? What the **** is that? I've never seen a Tarantino movie with a male and female ****ing. You should be happy with that. Sex is everywhere yet gay rape is the only thing that's made it into a Tarantino film.

Re: Is Tarantino cooler than Shyamalan?
Violence for the sake of violence and then making it g gratuitously unnecessary. His movies are past the use of violence and cross over into sadism for the sake of sadism. It's either violence porn or dialog the goes on forever without a point other than the final 2 seconds of an over bloviated monologue after monologue.
