Re: SUPER BOWL XLI: Indianapolis Colts (15-4) VS Chicago Bears (15-3) - 2/4

Five words:

Devin Hester is coming home.

The weakness in the Colts comeback and win yesterday was it's special teams, which gave up huge returns to Ellis Hobbs which gave the Patriots great field position (and Viniateri was getting most kicks in the endzone). They better step their game up because special teams is the second strongest unit on the Bears, and Hester could take one to the house.

Bears ends are going to have to be disciplined and not just worry about rushing the QB because if they lose contain they'll get killed by the stretch play.

Dallas Clark won't have the mismatch he had last game in this one, there's a big difference between Tully Banta-Cain and Eric Alexander and Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs.

Tillman will struggle Vs Wayne, but the Bears won't play much man coverage as they'll go a lot with their cover-2 look. So if the rush can't get to Peyton, expect the Colts to eat that zone up.

Rex Grossman has to know his role in this one, because this is a winnable game, he doesn't have to be a the Sex Cannon to win this one. There will be shots deep to be had (because outside of Bob Sanders, that secondary is suspect) especially with Bernard Berrian. Having time to make those throws might be easier said than done because Garza and Reuben Brown are struggling.

Should be a good, maybe even great game. I don't believe anyone that says it's going to be a blowout.

Very good analysis. Almost exactly what I would have said. Tillman on Wayne scares the crap out of me as a Bears fan. The biggest concern for the Bears is whether they go 2-deep or man, Chris Harris and Daniel Manning need to avoid being caught on the play-action fakes and beaten down the middle by Harrison and Wayne. I wouldn't be so concerned about the stretch play. If you run the ball against the Bears, it'll be up the middle. The defense is too fast to hit the outside runs more than once or twice. I think it'll be a good game too as long as Rex stays in control.

Re: SUPER BOWL XLI: Indianapolis Colts (15-4) VS Chicago Bears (15-3) - 2/4

I don't think it's going to be a blowout, but I think the Colts are the significantly better team. I think the Bears will have a tough time moving the ball if the same Indy defense of the last couple games shows up. Grossman hasn't been inept in the playoffs, but he also hasn't been impressive. Manning is good at handling pressure, by setting up screen passes or throwing a dart to his hot route. I think Chicago will make things tough on Manning, but he'll still get his yards and scores.

I think the result will be along the lines of:

Indianapolis 24
Chicago 14

Re: SUPER BOWL XLI: Indianapolis Colts (15-4) VS Chicago Bears (15-3) - 2/4

I think this will be a higher scoring affair. The Colts have been playing outstanding defense (Ron Meeks usually does have the Colts defense playing well in the postseason), but they have to crowd the box to make sure they can stop the run. They have the luxury in the Super Bowl of facing a team which isn't a significantly good run or passing team, but what the Bears do have is balanced play calling.

If they watch the film they can see where Kevin Faulk was having success, and use Thomas Jones in similar ways. They definitely need to try and use the Colts speed against them. For the Bears to win Ron Turner needs better play calling on second downs, some of his calls Vs the Saints was atrocious. Also limit Cedric Benson's carries. They won't want Rex Grossman to play extremely conservative, but he has to maximize his shots down field.

I'm loving this matchup though, and can really see it going either way. The way I see it the Colts have the better offense, but the Bears have the better defense and special teams.

Even though I'm definitely not a fan of Peyton Manning, I'm cheering for the Colts because of Tony Dungy but I wouldn't be dissapointed if Lovie won.

I think the Bears keep it close and are down by 3 with the ball in the second half, but the Colts end up winning by more than a score.

Anyone finding that the preview show on CBSSportsline.com is much better than any of the crud ESPN is putting out? Charley Casserly is surprisingly a good analyst for the guy that took Mario WIlliams 1.

I bet on the Bears at +7. Im hoping that the Bears D makes Peyton Manning look like Drew Brees did last week. And I have a feeling that Cedric Benson and Thomas Jones expose the Colts defense.

I like the Colts in this one. I think losing Mike Brown and Tommie Harris has hurt the Bears D more than people think. They aren't as dominating as they were in the first half the year. It's gonna be close though.
