Jared Allen Traded to Vikes
Quote:
The Chiefs have agreed to trade DE Jared Allen to the Vikings.
Allen has some off-field concerns, but it's rare to see one of the top defensive players in the league traded as he's entering his peak. Allen fills a huge need and should be a terror on turf in Minnesota. The deal will be finalized Wednesday, but a contract and trade agreement are in place. Kansas City is expected to get Minnesota's No. 17 overall pick and more, probably a third-round pick. They could now look at DE (Chris Long or Vernon Gholston) with their fifth pick. Allen should get less money than Dwight Freeney, but should be receiving a mega-deal.

Talk about a dominate line getting better.

Wow. If Tarvaris Jackson could play just solid and not screw it up the Vikings will be in great shape and a team to look out for.

I do not think Tavaris Jackson is their answer at QB. I just wont believe it.

I don't either. For one I don't like the idea of having a scrambling QB with a talent like Peterson around and he has had so many mental lapses last year that it would take a major turnaround for him to become solid. They need a game manager who doesn't turn the ball over more than anything else.

Neither do I. If they had a good qb, wow, they could be a threat.

Re: Jared Allen Traded to Vikes
Any chance the Vikings will go after Flacco or Brohm later on in the draft?

Re: Jared Allen Traded to Vikes
I think they have traded their picks to the Chiefs in this deal.

Re: Jared Allen Traded to Vikes
I know they gave up their first and third round picks, but they should still have their second rounder, right?

Re: Jared Allen Traded to Vikes
You are right, I thought they gave up their first three picks, but they had two 3rd round picks instead of only one.

Re: Jared Allen Traded to Vikes
This is an awful trade.
Is Jared Allen good? Yes. Is he good enough to warrant a trade like this? Not a chance.
