Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
Might be early yet, but that might be the dagger given how the Bears have played tonight.

Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
Haha at the ref calling 12 men on the Packers.
"Five yard penalty, first down...oh...not a first down..."

Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
And another interception. Should have been overturned, but no one cared enough to review it.

Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
I'm sure Jay Cutler fantasy owners wish they had which probably includes Jay Cutler based on how cocky he is.

Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
Clay had a good year last year, it just didn't translate to sacks.

Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
I won't excuse Cutler's meltdown, but good grief I was mad as shit watching how bad that Bears line is and how Earl Bennett refused to come back to the football. How many balls were intercepted in front of Bennett? 2 or 3?
I'm a fan of Cutler but he has a problem with his composure. Once anything goes bad he gets frustrated and everything gets derailed. Then if he makes one mistake he tries to overcome it with shoddy decision making. When you couple this with poor protection it's a nightmare waiting to happen. It's frustrating because when he is under control he has the ability to pick a defense a part. Also a lot of his throws were flat footed and that's why they were dying when he was going deep. Defensively the Packers looked a lot more like they did the year they won the Super Bowl than last season. They were getting a ton of pressure, and they were getting turnovers. On offense Cedric Benson basically fell into their lap and if last night is any indication he gives the offense a different dimension. Despite being rattled early Aaron Rodgers played a good game. The one thing the Packers have to get under control are WR drops. The Packers could have ran away with this game even earlier than they did if his targets could hold onto the ball. James Jones, Jordy Nelson, and JerMichael Finely all dropped very catchable passes multiple times. The problem here is these guys all have a history of dropped passes, and these can be (and were) drive killers.

Re: NFL '12 - Week 2
It bugs me that Cutler doesn't look at photos from the previous play after an interception to try and figure out what went wrong. Most good qb's do. But you tend to just see him slouched looking disgruntled after a bad play.
Rodgers had an average game last night, and the Packers just benefitted from the Bears throwing the game away. They were having some success running the ball and got away from it despite the fact they were only down 10 through most of the third quarter. |
