So What Now?

What does Goodell do? What do the owners do? The NFL has become the laughing stock of all the professional sports (and the NHL is ****ing locked out again). This is absolutely ridiculous. When the refs STEAL a win from you, you've got much bigger problems than you ever envisioned. What happens now? Something needs to be done because they are ruining the NFL season for players, coaches and fans alike.

Re: So What Now?

NFL needs to pay up.

It is one thing for the replacements to make bad calls, but they are directly impacting the outcome of games.

Re: So What Now?

I don't think Goodell is gonna back down and go for the refs demands, they'll eventually reach an agreement but it'll be halfway-halfway. This probably makes them speed up talks though.

NFL is not going to budge they know they are not going to lose money even if the product turns into pro wrestling.

Re: So What Now?

These guys were never good enough. If the NFL was willing to put them out on the field for one second they were willing to let this shit happen. It just doesn't effect their calculations, because they clearly aren't embarrassed by this stuff.

The one thing that might effect them is more of the type of thing that happened to Heyward-Bey going unflagged. That stuff is what makes them look the worst IMO, they spent the last two or three years preaching all that stuff about protecting players and then this shit comes along and they don't give a **** about protecting the players any more.

Re: So What Now?

Despite everyone's complaints, Goodell's making the right call. It wouldn't matter if the refs were all blindfolded. Nobody's canceling their season tickets because of this.

Re: So What Now?

I just wish I could've watched the Packers/Seahawks game with a couple of the normal refs. See what their reaction would be when that last minute shitstorm unfolded.

Re: So What Now?

I've never seen anything so chaotic as what we saw tonight in an NFL game before. It's pure chaos. It's not even about the ending, it's about how they have lost all control over every aspect of the game. It's not football that we're seeing right now. Guys are going at one-another after every play, easy calls are being missed, you've got scrums breaking out in EVERY game. The refs have tried to contain it, but it's getting to a point where penalties have now overtaken the games completely and it's become the deciding factor on the outcome.

This, and didn't you just say in the other thread the 8 sacks were just as much if not more of a detriment than this bad call

I agree, its ****ing complete hilarity, and what's even more hilarious (and obscene, actually) is all this outrage by fans who probably don't give a shit what is happening in the Middle East right about now.

Priorities misplaced? I guess so.

Not to mention these fans are the same ones that will bitch loudly when the regular refs are making bad calls that determine outcomes of games.

"These fans"? I'm sorry, is it wrong to be a passionate football fan?
