You can tell just by watching him play. Some of the throws Kaepernick made to today and a couple plays with his feet that were arguably the difference in the game. It's not about the stats, even though his stats through 2 starts are pretty damn good. A few big throws on 3rd down really showed the difference. The one to Walker over the middle and the one deep in their own territory where he fit it through a really tight window to Crabtree. Arm strength, legs and the ability to open things up and make more explosive plays. Having a great defense is fine, but with the way offense is played in today's NFL you're going to have to be able to make explosive plays on offense and Colin Kaepernick gives you that ability more so than Alex Smith.

I just didnt see it right now. He wasnt hitting his WR or Veron Davis today. Of course Colin is the QB of the future and when they have him play with the first team more and he builds a relationship with his weapons plus the 49ers base the playbook more around the ability(because face it Gore is gonna break down soon) he will most likely be a superstar

I just dont see why right now you bench a QB that has 5 loses in 2 years and is playing really well. Alex Smith isnt Drew Brees but he is a accurate QB that does what 49ers need him to do and why do people act like he is a statue in the back field? Smith is a mobile QB he isnt as fast or agile as Kaepernick but still

He might be pissed off, but that's professional sports. Kaep's throws vs Smith's are night and day for accuracy down the field. Just because he didn't have to throw them today doesn't mean he cant. The first throw at 9 seconds Smith doesn't even attempt.



You missed the point. You take what's available, targeting WR for the sake of targeting WR accomplishes nothing. He has viable options everywhere and it's not apparent that a QB in Harbaugh's system doesn't have to be Aaron Rodgers to win games.
