It is not Adderall players just say that because the league is not allow to say what they tested positive for and Adderall sounds a lot better than what they actually tested positive for.

The drug testing in the NFL (and college football at the higher levels) is a joke to begin with. Most players are probably using PEDs, in the offseason when the long term benefits are greater, pain killers and short term boosters during the playing season. There are certain natural limitations to the human body that are being stretched in all possible directions. People aren't supposed to be 260 pounds and still run like deers.

It may not be a level playing field and it's part of the culture of football, I just don't think it should be totally ignored considering how the league is trying to promote safety and long term health. Then again, there probably isn't a whole lot of interest in extensive testing and damaging the product since the popularity is at an all-time high. Players are bigger, stronger and faster than ever and there is no doubt that this is one of the reasons why football is enjoyable, so it would also be hypocritical to offer much criticism in light of all that when I'm watching as much football as I do.

Yup, I'm not naive enough to think PEDs aren't rampant in football (pros, college and even high school). At the same time, I'm not going to complain because it's a big part of what makes the product so enjoyable.

She kinda/sorta has a point. As I always like to joke I was about the only person living in Boston in the 80s that didn't use coke. When I was in college I went to school with a kid who was making 100k+ a year doing nothing but selling coke to Emerson, Harvard, MIT, and BU kids (and this was 30 years ago, in 2012 dollars that's a ****load of money), because three of those four schools had official don't ask/don't tell policies regarding narcotics usage (right in the student handbook, no less).

Anyway, these days schools are more hardass about people selling coke, heroin, etc., but Adderall generally gets a pass. And, yeah, people use it recreationally to keep them on their feet when they're drinking heavily (again, when I was a kid, that's essentially what my peers were using coke for, to keep themselves on their feet while binge drinking, I wish I could find footage of the late Kevin Knox's hilarious Captain Coke! monologue).
