ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Seahawks cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are both facing four-game suspensions for violating the NFL’s PED policy. Both are appealing their suspensions and could have their appeals heard as early as this week.

If the appeals are unsuccessful, that would be devastating to the Seahawks on the field — and probably lethal to any hopes the Seahawks have of making the playoffs. Losing either starting cornerback would be a significant blow to Seattle’s defense. Losing both would be devastating.

Sherman and Browner would be replaced in the starting lineup, if they are suspended, by Marcus Trufant and Walter Thurmond.

There is no word on which banned substance Sherman and Browner are alleged to have taken.

I have no idea what advantage they think it conveys, but it seems to be all the rage amongst NFL players these days, Brandon Spikes got nabbed for it last year and I think that's what Talib got hit for too. But somehow Jermaine Cunningham has gone from 245 to 275 in the last year and manages to pass his PED tests.

It could help you if you were a QB and you were trying to learn an NFL offense. I would assume that the reason for taking it would be to help you focus when you're studying game film and if you're an offensive player the playbook. They caught a Nascar driver using it last year too, but that makes a ton of sense when you think about it.

The way I see it - if you don't want guys taking it then suspend them a game, I guess. But to categorize and punish it the same way as if they were taking steroids is just wrong.

I've taken Adderall before sporting events, it definitely helps. But like that article blurb says, to categorize and punish it the same way is if it were steroids is very wrong.
