"Alright everyone let's get ready for the opening punt of Superbowl XLVIII!"

Doesn't have the same ring to it.

Dont worry soon defenses are gonna have to count to 7 Mississippi's before they can rush the QB so he doesnt get hurt

I think I can see his point. In theory, lets say some team has the most unstoppable offense this league has ever seen, so unstoppable that they have a realistic chance of converting any 4th and 15. They score, convert on the onside punt, and score again. Rinse, lather, repeat. So it would leave open the possibility that the defending team could never have possession of the ball if they are unable to stop a team on the 4th and 15 or the following. Said offense would put up video game like numbers which would have effect on offensive records.

Again, this is all theory, but this is the big hole I see in Schiano's idea.

The hypothetical team that can do that is already going to crush every offensive record.

The forward pass changed offensive records too.
