Ponder just ain't that good. He wasn't that good in college either. He probably wouldn't have thrown the ball over his head twice like Webb, but I don't think he would have been much more effective passing (and definitely less effective running); I think back to his game at Lambeau in the regular season.
I'd be interested in seeing Ponder's Week 13 DVOA vs. Webb's Playoff DVOA. |

I mean, like Knick Killer said Ponder isn't a great quarterback but to act like they couldn't have possibly won with him in there a week after they did win with him in there is pretty stupid. Yes the stakes were raised slightly (both were playing for a lot in Week 17) and the venue changed, but a Ponder led offense put up 37 points on the Packers a week ago. The Joe Webb led offense could barely move the ball and had single digit passing yards in the first half. It's not like the Packers offense set the world on fire Saturday either.
