I'm not crazy about the Lovie Smith firing, but I've typed my thoughts on it too many times this morning already so I'm going to mostly take a pass. I'm in the minority among Bears fans, who mostly wanted him gone from what I've seen. I'm sure Phil Emery wants to build the team with his own vision... we'll see if he had a guy in mind.

Nimreitz - the only notable Bears RB before Forte in the Lovie Smith era was Thomas Jones, who played well for us. Cedric Benson didn't have a lot of offensive line help and struggled with us. I'm with you in thinking that most of our problems were Jerry Angelo related.

My facebook is filled with Bears fans having a laugh about how Lovie never shows emotion. Because that's what makes a good coach, not consistently top rated defense and special teams. Emotion. Like Lane Kiffin.

I've said it before, but Rex Ryan is not even close to the biggest problem for the Jets. Keeping him and ditching Tannenbaum is exactly what they should've done. Name three teams in the entire league with less overall talent on offense than the Jets, I bet you can't. I maintain that the Jets by and large have overachieved under Rex and he's a good coach.

I also feel like Lovie and Ken Whisenhunt are good coaches, but can understand them getting fired. Not Ken's fault he hasn't had anything close to a legitimate NFL quarterback since Warner retired, but the wheels really fell off this year after the hot start. Probably needed a change.
