Hey guys,

Welcome to the Hockey trivia thread.

The idea is we will hold a contest to see who really knows hockey.

Here's how it works:

We will hold this contest untill the Stanley Cup has been awarded. Once the final game of the season has been played the member with the most correct answers wins the 10,000 Ucash points.

Here's the format:

Answer a question, then ask a question.

Basically, after you correctly answer a question, you get to ask the next one.

You can get into this at any time, just post your answer. Get your answers where every you can!

I see George Hainsworth with the Montreal Canadiens, 1930-1931 season, and the streak was 270min and 8sec. Your turn.

What is the longest recorded game in NHL history? And actually to buff it up what was the date it happened and the two teams that played and how long?

Ok, I know it was Montreal and Detroit on March 26th, 1956.

Six overtimes, I think it lasted 176 minutes.

Next Question:
One team is in the list of top five longest playoff games twice. Who is that team? And what else is similar about the games. (Besides the road team winning each time)?

I know the team is Pittsburgh but only thing I can think of similar is that they were both game sixes and were series deciding wins. Is that right?
