They wouldn't have lost another season. The deadline to get in 48 or 50 games was one more week. Second round of mediation must have helped. The big thing is the new deal is 10 years. They probably lost quite a bit of viewers, at least initially.

Unlike most hockey crazed canadians, I'm not going to just pretend this never happened and go back to being a die hard fan. My love for the game is not the same after all of this nonsense.
