Gilchrist
Some were touting him as a lottery pick before the year. Maryland has a horrible season, Gilchrist is inconsistant and doesn't appear focused. Now that Maryland lost to Clemson (for the 3rd time this year) in the 1st round of the ACC Tourney, Gilchrist's stock is, well, not what it was before the season started. How low is it, especially compared to the other PGs having great seasons (Felton, Paul, Williams, etc.)? Is it low enough to make him stay for his senior year?

Re: Gilchrist
I think he goes unless he's a second rounder he'll go and be happy just like Frank Williams a couple of years ago...... I think he only the 4th best pg in the ACC Felton, Paul, Jack then Gilchrist...

Re: Gilchrist
c'mon, the high school all american dunk champ should get more love than a second round pick. O well, he even might not get drafted.

Re: Gilchrist
he'll be drafted mid first round
seriously when he makes a pass and a teammate doesn't catch it, he starts sulking and like *****ing. He needs to stop getting down on himself and his teammates more importantly

Re: Gilchrist
At this point i think the kid is a late first rounder. This is a tough call, it all depends on how much confidence he has in himself and his team to raise or lower his stock for his final season.

Re: Gilchrist
Right now, Gilchrist is a late 1st/early 2nd pick. If I were him, I would stay one more year and raise the draft stock.

Re: Gilchrist
Mid-first rounder? Not in this draft, his stock is low and the players ahead of him are ahead of him for good reason. He could end up being a late first round steal for teams like the Heat, Suns, Spurs, Mavs, Sonics, etc. Possible early 2nd rounder. Assuming he applies this year.

Re: Gilchrist
The best thing that could happen to Gilchrist, as a player, is to be a late first round pick for a good team. Might not be great for his financial future, but what if the Lakeshow grabbed him with that Miami first round pick?

Re: Gilchrist
Gilchist isn't a second rounder. He's still a 15/5/5 player and has a better build than the other ACC point guards. 1v1 he's probably the best point guard in the NCAA.
Now the bad part. He isn't good at managing a game. He doesn't move the ball. He doesn't take good shots. Things like that keep him rated below Jack/Felton/Paul.
I'm sure Gilchrist would love to get those guys in an open gym and show off how good he is, but until he gets a solid grasp of strategy/management he won't get the same respect or draft status.
