Re: Most slept on NBA Draft?
It's a good draft class, but not very good. Dirk was an MVP, Pierce and Carter have been All-Star caliber players the entire decade. Then you have guys like Jamison, Lewis and maybe Bibby who have been borderline All-Stars as well and a lot of solid role players. Overall it's definitely a decent class.

I believe he was a second rounder. Don't quote me on that though.

I disagree that this draft class doesn't get any love. I'm pretty sure most people that know their draft history would agree that the '98 draft as one of the greatest in the modern era of the NBA. The only other draft that was arguably better was the '96 draft.

Re: Most slept on NBA Draft?
I think it gets the credit it deserves: not all that much. Of the players listed, several are incessantly mocked around here (Larry Hughes, for example). Ricky Davis? ****ing joke. Guys like Cat Mobley, Rafer Alston and Matt Harpring are nothing to define a draft class. Of those listed in this thread, half a dozen are really noteworthy. One of the greatest of the modern era? Ahahaha.

Re: Most slept on NBA Draft?
It's got some talent, but I definitely wouldn't call it one of the greatest of the modern era.
Obviously '96 is better. '99 is significantly better as well:
Brand, Francis, Marion, Artest, Baron, Odom, Kirilenko, Manu (in the 2nd), Rip, Terry, Andre Miller, Szczerbiak, ...
Then obviously '03 has Lebron, Wade, Melo, Bosh, Hinrich, David West, Kaman, Josh Howard, etc.
'98 is pretty solid though, definitely above average class for the last 10-15 years. But not among the very best.
