Re: Who is in and who is out: Early-Entry Deadline
I'm sort of surprised that Lawson withdrew. He's probably not going to drastically improve his position next year.Maybe he'll go a few spots higher, but big deal.

Re: Who is in and who is out: Early-Entry Deadline
I saw on TSN.com that Robert Vaden pulled his name out. I thought he was doing pretty well.

Lawson is a major surprise to me, apparently he wants to win a national title badly, otherwise his decision doesn't make much sense.

Re: Who is in and who is out: Early-Entry Deadline
1st and foremost, next years draft likely wont be nearly as deep, which basically means better likelihood to go in the 1st rnd, which in-turn means better likelihood to get guaranteed money.
Also, as opposed to the possibility of playing in Europe or the D-league next year, why not play one more year of college ball and go next year when the draft is less deep across the board. He's giving himself the best chance to succeed and instead doing something foolish and risky. Going back to college is the safer route for any late 1st rounders this year if they could afford to do it. Next year would probably be alot more promising for many of them.

Re: Who is in and who is out: Early-Entry Deadline
Lawson is solidly in the first round, probably 20-25.Next year he's hardly going to become a top ten pick.He just doesn't have much to gain.Fact is a lot of the Euros are staying in the draft hoping that they'll get picked in the second round instead of the first because they've changed the rules. If they get drafted at the end of the first round they're screwed.Going in the second round is better for them.
