Yes, I hope like hell Rubio ends up in New York. I'm sure he does too. He'll get plenty of minutes, he could possibly end up averaging more assists than points per game. If Chris Duhon can get 23 assists in New Yorks system, Rubio could put up some pretty sexy numbers even as a rookie. He'll also will probably have the opportunity to get some endorsements, which would help pay for his buyout, ultimately keeping him from going back to Spain for a year or two.

I agree with just about everything you said.
However, I don't see Rubio putting up really good numbers as a rookie. I think he'll do something like 6 PPG, 6 APG, 0.5 SPG. He'll play some minutes, but you have to remember he's 18 years old, and is basically skin and bones compared to NBA players.

Oh yeah, I certainly don't expect him to average 10 and 10 his rookie year, but I do think he could have some very big games. Maybe a 12-15 assist game two or three times throughout the season.

Okay, then we agree completely

The rumor when people thought OKC would take Rubio was Lee in a sign and trade for Rubio. That isn't happening with Minnesota, and aside from David Lee, the Knicks don't have any assets.

Anyone wanna take side bets that Duhon ends up being the better player?
Duhon is about as good as he is ever going to be. Rubio has Jason Kidd potential down the line. Barring something significant I can't imagine Duhon being a better player than Rubio.

Of the two, Duhon has a physical makeup that more resembles Kidd... Ricky is a little light and scrawny to draw that comparison.
I mean, Rubio will likely end up better... but if someone was willing to give me odds...
