So here's a good hypothetical - had Royce White had ZERO mental health red flags where would he have been drafted?

No way that Royce White goes top 5. None of those GMs are that bad. Frankly mental illness is probably the best thing that ever happened to him, because he'll get to be a millionaire and everyone will remember him as some legendary talent rather than as Antoine Walker v2.0

I believe that Anthony Davis was the only player in this draft who will have a better career than Antoine Walker 1.0.

Walker was a roleplayer that no one could ever convince that he was. I'll give him credit for being a good soldier, but his inability to get the balls in the hole made him a terrible golfer and completely unable to father children. Plus he made more turnovers than Dunkin' Donuts and his points/poss for his career was under 1. I don't think that Royce White would ever have been that good

I thought Royce White's actual draft position reflected an "issues-free" analysis on Houston's part, and was still probably overly optomistic at that. He went ahead of several guys who were significantly better college players.

White racked up a bunch of assists in his one year at Iowa State, which was more a result of the way he was used in the offense than it was uncommonly deft passing. They ran a ton of screen/hand-offs and high post stuff where he was basically just shuffling the ball out to three point shooters. The numbers give him this inflated reputation of a guy that does everything that I don't think was totally warranted.
