Is Shaq still in his prime?
Shaq scores 36 and has 20 rebs in Game 4.
As I said, Ben Wallace is an average defender at best.

No? He would have 50 and 25 over Big Ben?

There's not much anyone can do against Shaq 1-on-1, and that's how Ben Wallace is being forced to guard Shaq. No one can stop Shaq 1-on-1, and Ben just doesn't stand a chance. Wallace is realistically about 6'6. No matter how strong he is, and what a good athlete he is, he can't guard Shaquille O'Neal 1-on-1. Detroit has double teamed Shaq very rarely this series.

He's still the best center and a true top 5 player in this league, yet people are all over Kobe, the fraud top 5 player. Shaq may retire as the greatest center ever.

No, he isn't in his prime.
He's done 30-20 before in the Finals and after much better seasons and playoffs. Shaq's prime was the threepeat.

Shaq's past his prime, but his game is still the best at his position in the NBA.
As for Ben? He's outweighted by a 100+ pounds. He weighes about the same as Ron Artest(I think). Would you still think Artest is an average defender at best if he had to guard Shaq? Size matters.

Re: Re: Is Shaq still in his prime?
I'd say he's just coming out of his prime, to the point where he's still an All-Star, but not quite what he was.
Next he'll hit the less productive stage, and then enter Karl Malone territory.

Shaq isn't in his prime anymore. However, it looks like he is returning back to his normal DOMINANT form.
As for Ben Wallace being an average defender...uhhh...no...

The only thing stopping Shaq from being in his "prime" right now is his conditioning. He isnt able to dominate for as long of stretches as he used to or as consistently as he used to, but he can still be the most dominating force in basketball when he wants to be. I still find it hard to believe that he doesnt touch the ball in the post on every single trip down the court.

What exactly is "Karl Malone territory?"
He is injured. How can anybody possibly expect him to put up great stats?
