Just throwing ideas out there because I don't think the current deal is fair for the Lakers at all. This deal is more fair for all involved, and supposedly there may be a third team involved in the actual trade (Dallas or Indiana). Check out these lineups:
Lakers:
Payton, Vujacic
Bryant, George
Howard, Walton, Fox
Odom, Medvedenko
Grant, Podkolzine
Heat:
Wade, Delk
Jones, Wright
Jackson (MLE), R. Butler, Freije
Haslem, Beasley, Miralles
Shaq, (Haslem)
Mavs:
Daniels, Harris, Stefansson
Finley, Stackhouse, Rush
Butler, Najera, Abdul-Wahad
Walker, Laetner, Cook
Nowitzki, Bradley, Fortson
I don't understand why Dallas wouldn't do this. Delk is useless to them, and Howard is a nice player but they'd rather have Butler. I also think the value of Cook and Rush greatly outweighs the value of Pavel. The Heat would do this too, Delk could actually help their team, unlike Malik Allen, and the other stuff they give up is what they're already giving up for Shaq.

No we don't!!! Howard is going to turn out as a much better player than Butler. Also why would we give up our future C for a young PF in Cook who won't do much because Dirk is young and a young SG in Rush who would have to fight with Daniels for minutes there in the future. I really like Rush,Butler, and Cook but we don't need them, we should just keep Howard and Pavel.
