To everyone who's ever participated in a Kobe vs. Tmac argument...
Is the next year going to settle things?
Do we agree that we will finish all our arguments next year? After Kobe gets to lead his own team like T-Mac? After T-Mac gets a big guy like Kobe?

Not really. Kobe will still have a better team next year around him than McGrady has ever had besides maybe next season.
The Rockets still have some holes to fill at the PG and SF spots.
The Lakers mean while will need to add some PFs since Malone and Denko will probably leave (one will retire, the other will go to another team via FA). They also need to add some more depth at the PG and center spots.

This argument will never be decided....never!
You already know what people from each camp are going to say before the season even begins.
For Tmac:
Yao isn't as good as Shaq was in his prime.
The supporting cast isn't as good as Kobe/Shaq's 3-peat.
Van Gundy's offensive scheme doesn't allow Tmac to play to his full potential.
For Kobe:
Supporting cast sucks.
He's by himself, and no one else is doing anything.
First year with Rudy T.
..................and you know there will be tons more.
Get ready folks.....I know there will be records broken for the amount of Tmac vs. Kobe posts.

How about we decide this after they both retire rather than at age 25-26?

It most certainly wont decide anything unless one of the two has an all-time season or one of the two has an absolutely terrible season.
The comparison between the two should be easier to draw next year though since the quality of the teams they will be on will be much closer than it ever has in the past.

Nope, not going to happen. Honestly, both will be going through transition seasons next year, and it may take a while for T-Mac to settle into Houston, and get used to playing with Yao and playing under Van Gundy. Kobe will have to get used to playing without Shaq, playing under Rudy T, or possibly playing for the Clippers with a whole new set of teammates(which isn't much more of a change than the Lakers next season). Next year could answer some questions, but it'll take another 2-3 years minimum before we can determine whether Kobe can do it without Shaq or not, and if T-Mac can do it with Yao.

Well, how many games are they going to play against each other next season? I mean, I don't know how this schedule is going to work now that Charlotte's coming in.
Kobe vs. T-Mac should be an interesting one this season, but will we REALLY see much offense and explosiveness from T-Mac? Let's not forget this is the "Van Gundy-could-even-make-Dr. J-boring-to-watch" Houston Rockets. Here's a coach that wants to revolve the Rockets around YAO, and not T-Mac.
Then there's Kobe's team. Yes, KOBE'S team, no matter where he goes! If he stays with the Lakers, then it will be his team if they can pull off the trade with Shaq and get Lamar Odom, Brian Grant, and Caron Butler if he's part of the trade.
Once again, the media will get involved and make the argument bigger than it's ever been before since they're probably going to play more games in the west.

How about we get them in a cage Battlegrounds-style and the first one to 10,000 points wins?
That would be the pinnacle of BBB.net.
BTW that was on tonight and I missed it.

That's the same thing people said about San Antonio. They were "boring" to watch. But they have won 2 championships in the last 5 years. And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't the offense centered around Shaquille in L.A.? I remember when Shaq was out for an extended amount of time, the lakers struggled at like 2-9 or something along those lines. So Houston is boring to watch and our team revolves around Yao. Houston is gona be a championship contender. period.

Yao finished Friday's game with 27 points, 22 rebounds and five blocked shots, becoming the first NBA player to reach 20 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in a game since Shaquille O'Neal did it last March against the Bucks. Only Moses Malone and Hakeem Olajuwon had done it with the Rockets, and the last time Olajuwon did it was Feb. 10, 1993.

Hopefully it will be settled that it's too close to call. However, if Kobe decides to stay and struggle with the Lakers he could become a forgotten superstar. ( i just want him on the clips)

I really doubt this arguement will ever die. They're just too close in terms of talent/productivity to let this arguement go away and I don't see it changing in the future.

Take a look at their summer games pg, a kid from Slovenia, who is going to be the Laker pg of the future.
I still think the rockets need another tough PF, as Juwan and Taylor are not.
