Is the West still the Best ?
With Shaq probably in Miami and the Champions Pistons. I dont think the West can dominate the East like past yrs.
About the best player for each Position for Conference.
PG- The East have probably the best 2 PG on the L. Jason Kidd and Stephon Marbury
SG- T-Mac and Kobe are probably the best and both are in the West but the east have players who can made score points like Kobe or T-Mac (Paul P., Vince Carter, A.I. Michael Redd etc...)
SF- Hard to say the East have the DFY (Artest) and the West players like Marion...
PF- This is for the West 100% Tim Duncan, KG. etc the East have K-Mart Ben And Rashed and of course J. O'Neal but the East have good young players in this position (Mike Sweetney, C. Bosh, Darko Emeka, Dwigh)
C- With Shaq in the East the East is powerful but the west still have better Centers with Yao Dampier (if he stay there).
Well Maybe the West is still better but not like other yrs.
I can't wait to the Next season

I think top to bottom the West is still probably better. But I would put the Pistons and Pacers up against any team in the West no problem.

Keep in mind that KMart and Carlos Boozer are likely switching conferences, so instead of having an elite 5 (Detroit, Indy, Miami, Cleveland, New Jersey), the East reverts back to an elite 3... so I don't think the East have made much progress at all.

Too many people are discrediting the west after the Pistons won. Yes the West is still better. Here you have the most competive teams. The top 5 western playoff seeds, San Antonio, Minnesota, LA Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, last year, all had a legitamite shot at winning the championship. The east in general is weak. The Pacers and Pistons are so mcuh better htan the rest of the east, that they are likely to win a championship. Really, the next best team in the conference was NJ, then Miami, and those two could not have beaten any of the top 5 western teams in a 7 game series. This offseason may have changed some factors but in general the west is still stronger. That doesn't mean that the eastern conference can't win a title, in fact, I'm hoping htat Indiana wins it all this year.

Why on earth would you put Turkoglu on that list for the east? He plays the 3 and sometimes 2 and scored like 7 pts a game last year. Dont you think Paul Pierce might be a better suggestion for that list? Maybe Rip Hamilton? What about Jermaine O'Neal, Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, Stephen Marbury, Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Ron Artest, etc. Your list seemed a bit bias.

No question that the West is still the best. The East is making up ground faster than people think tho starting with the championship going back out East this year. Hole is definitely closing tho.

west is definitely best. We're just wayyyyy too deep. And you guys lose the hornets and add the bobcats which you makes worse off. Spurs, Kings, Wolves, Mavs, Lakers, Rockets, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Jazz, Hornets, Suns......all these teams could have home court adv. in the east.
