Which of these former stars will make an impact next season?
Definition: By impact I mean stepping up as a 1st or 2nd option, and doing all the things a star player would do to make his team better by say 8-10 wins.
Grant Hill - Injuries and more injuries... he says he's set to play the whole season this year, and if he does, he just might be the difference between an Orlando playoff team and a lottery team.
Glenn Robinson - Looks like Big Dog's going downhill with his career from here... but hey maybe with a trade he'll change his attitude and become the prolific scorer that he once was! Oh wait didn't he try that already with Atlanta and Philly... oh well who knows?
Antoine Walker - With Nash gone, he's arguably the 2nd best player with the Mavs. Michael Finley's obviously past his prime, but Walker should be AT his prime! How will he do next season with the Mavs? Or will he be traded and stand out with another team?
Jalen Rose - c'mon the guy's one of the highest paid players in the league, you should expect more out of him! Settled in his PG duties with Toronto last yr, but if Vince goes, maybe he'll have to become the 20+ppg scorer he once was.
Shareef Abdul-Rahim - Poor Reef, will you ever make it to the playoffs?? The guy plays so consistently too... OK he hasn't got any better since his Grizzlies days, but he hasn't really gotten any worse either! Put him in a right role and maybe he'll finally become a winner.
Chris Webber - Probably the most popular choice here, but don't forget that the Kings were rolling along last season before he came back. Just how much better does he make the Kings?
Ray Allen - My personal favourite "comeback all-star", Jesus still got game!! Still one of the purest shooters in the NBA, still a triple-double threat any day of the week.... but how come teams can't win with him?
Juwan Howard - Well obviously he's not gonna be a 1st or 2nd option, but if he can bring himself back to all-star form he can turn the Rockets into title contenders.
Feel free to mention any other former stars that might make a big comeback next season.

I don't really think Ray Allen is former star. He is still a star
My vote goes to Antoine Walker, he will know his role (if still in Dallas) and will settle down - average a few assists and rebounds and will run the Point for a bit longer since Nash is gone

Yeah, Ray Allen is a star and should have another strong season next year. I also voted for Webber, who I think will probably have a good regular season next year.

Dekembi motombo--old and more old... he says he's set to play the whole season this year, and if he does, he just might be the difference between an Knick playoff team and a lottery team.
Vald--he says he's set to play the whole season this year, and if he does, he just might be the difference between an Lakers playoff team and a lottery team.

Well Ray Ray's certainly not being treated like a star nowadays... his brief injury last year really hurt his stock, and he's being thrown around as a trade bait by Seattle. I certainly think he's still a star, but I'm sensing that a lot of people have given up on him already....

By your definition of 8 to 10 win improvement, I really doubt any of those teams will do that except maybe the Magic, so I guess I would have to go with Grant Hill.
Big Dog is not long for this league, rapidly declining
Antoine probably will put up better numbers due to circumstance, but I doubt the Mavs improve in the win column as a result
Jalen - I don't see any improvement with the Raptors unless a big overhual is completed and like you said if Vince is gone, maybe he starts scoring 20 ppg
Reef - no true break out here, though he'd be a nice addition to another squad and with a change in address could be a key ingredient to improvement
Webber - if healthy will have a great year and the Kings may contend for the best record, but then again, there's a lot of improvement everywhere out west
Ray Allen - Will Get Traded to the Celtics for Ricky Davis and we'll win 10 more games Hey I can dream right?
Howard? hmm, let me think, um no

Just thought I'd dig this up from the grave:
Grant Hill - Looking 100% so far. Mobley and Cato's down before Hill!
Glenn Robinson - Worthless
Antoine Walker - Stat-padder on worthless team
Jalen Rose - I like what he's doing with the Raptors. He's settled into a role with the team, and he's contributing.
Shareef Abdul-Rahim - uhm, same as last season?
Chris Webber - The Kings are 1-4, 'nuff said
Ray Allen - Best player on the list, leading the Sonics to a surprising start
Juwan Howard - Honestly I think he really sucks, but he put up 20pts last game after T-Mac went down so I won't complain
