Lol keep bashing d raps, you all will be suprised. They were 5th in the East before injuries, they have addressed their pg and C problems and are only one or 2 signings from really cementing their squad. Their main problem now is to get VC on board, besides that I see them taking that spot where the nets are now that K-Mart is gone.

The way I see it now, the Raptors are 5th in their own division not the Eastern Conference. The Nets, Celtics and Knicks all made the playoffs last season, and I don't think Rafer Alston and Rafael Araujo are nearly enough to push them ahead of any of those teams. I also think the 76ers with the additions of Andre Iguodala, Brian Skinner and possibly Antoine Walker will definitely be better than the Raptors. Moving Allen Iverson to point guard is a good move, the 76ers will be a playoff team in my opinion.

Someone help me out here.....is there a reason the Suns are being rated so low and out of the playoffs by many of you? I'm not a big Suns fan, but I would think their current roster is better than both the Lakers and the Mavs, right?
Am I the only one that thinks this?
As of now, I would think the Grizz and Suns make it over the Lakers and Mavs.

Wow talk about some MAJOR disrespect to the Pacers. They should be battling out with the Pistons one again for the best record in the East. Miami will be battling for 3rd.

Why does everyone have the Suns missing the playoffs...Nash, JJ, Marion, and Stoudemire...thats a pretty good team!
As of now, with the current rosters, I just can't see how the Mavs and Lakers are ahead of the Grizzlies and Suns.
As far as the East, there are really only three teams worth anything at this point: Heat, Pacers, and Pistons.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Magic at 4th.
Especially with Francis in the east coast in a more free lance offense, unlike the year he had with Gundy.
J Blaze, you bring up a good point about Martin.
I was never impressed by him, and would like to see what he does against the western players now that he has to face them much more often.

Phoenix was the 2nd worst team in the West last season. They added Steve Nash and they lost Antonio McDyess, now all of a sudden they're a playoff team? Please explain to me how that happens all of a sudden.

Well, much of it has to do with Amare not missing 27/28 games, as well as adding a veteran that has played well in the regular season and playoffs the last few seasons. Not to mention it'll be another year for Marion and Amare together who I believe to be a nice young duo.
Those are my reasons.
I've never been fond of Stackhouse(attitude) and his game as well as Laettner. You have a Finley who is on the downside of his career. A weak front court as well as losing your second best player only hurts your chances.
The Lakers have the same problem with their front court.
With the guards/SFs they have, they don't need a KG type player, but simply for rebounding and defensive purposes....they're lacking.
In the East, they would easily be 4th.

How can some you of place the Nuggets so high? Yes, they picked up K-Mart, but they have a log jam at the PF position... Anyone know if Jon Barry is comin back? They need a while to mesh, things of that sort. I know K-Mart is a good player... But... He's good enough to propel the team from being an eight seed going down 4-1, to a number 3 seed? Come on now...
