They helped out Nuggets because Nets couldnt afford Martin so they just did a S&T.
They helped out the Clippers because they will always be a losing team.Is not like they receive a allstar or Star.

No, it's not that bad of a trade for the Nets if they continue down this path of getting picks and saving money.
Jason Kidd
FOR
Gary Payton (good player and expiring)
Rick Fox (expiring)
Kareem Rush (young prospect)
Brian Cook (young prospect)
$3M in cash
Lakers Future First Round Pick
Heat Future First Round Pick
They save money, get given money, get two young prospects and two future picks.
Anyways, it's not going to happen because Mitch Kupchak is being hit with kryptonite from Karl Malone, preventing him from turning into....
SUPER-KUPCHAK!

When Kidd is put on the blocks, several teams will come up with good offers that not only includes expiring contracts but also at least one young and talented player plus perhaps a draft pick or two. Also, the Nets will try to use Kidd and make other teams take Zo's contract off their book. Kidd's value will be drove up by competitions, espeically if he comes back healthy.

You really think there is a big market to absorb Kidd's contract? You truly overestimate Kidd's value after his injuries and poor playoff performance. The luster is off. Only teams that are ready to compete for a title and are willing to spend some money. Then you have add the fact that the Nets don't really want any long term contracts in return. There are few teams that he will fit with...
Lakers for expiring contracts and draft picks.
Dallas for Walker/Howard
Indy but they would probably want to give Croshere
Miami for Eddie Jones
Boston with Ricky and/or Raef leaving
Denver might do Andre/Leonard/Skita but I doubt they give up Nene
Golden State might do JRich/Speedy and expiring contracts
Houston would be happy to give them MoT
New Orleans is looking to get rid of Monster Mash but NJ ain't taking him
Portland will give up Mighty Mouse and maybe SAR
Seattle might give them Ray Allen but I don't see that
Toronto might give up Carter if NJ threw in some picks and Carter goes public
Some of those deals are more realistic than others. If they could get Denver to give up Dre Miller that might be good for both teams.
I doubt that NJ gets that kind of value for Jason Kidd.

These are what I consider: A strong market for Kidd. One of these teams will certainly up the ante to get Kidd. It is very easy to trumph the original Lakers deal proposed in this thread. For instance, Dallas could offer Antoine Walker & Josh Howard (or Devin Harris). Dallas may even take Zo by swapping him with Christian Laettner. Portland could trade Shareef (or Damon Stoudamire/NVE) + one of their young kids like Telfair or Travis Outlaw. Memphis could offer up Jason Williams, Mike Miller, Bo Outlaw for Kidd and Zo, Indy would give up Tinsley, Bender, & Pollard. Etc...
These are enough market for me. And by the way, I think Kidd will not be traded until at least Dec 15 for couple reasons: 1) He needs to show he is healthy; 2) A lot of contracts (like Devin Harris) are eligible to trade again.
The Nets would be wise to hold on to Kidd at least until X'mas. Plus I don't think they are that desperate anymore after the trade of Kittles.

Nets trade:
Jason Kidd
Jason Collins
Nets get:
Heins
ERob (cut from team, 1 year left)
Pippen (expiring)
Nets get young PG and some cap room to replace Kidd.
--------------------------------------------------
Lakers trade:
Gary Payton (expiring)
Lamar Odom
Lakers get:
Jason Kidd
Jason Collins
Lakers get a massive upgrade at the point and a much more complete team.
Jason Kidd/
Kobe/Rush
Butler/George
Grant/Walton
Divac/Collins
------------------------------------------------
Bulls trade:
Heinrich
Eddie Robinson
Pippen
Bulls get:
Lamar Odom
Gary Payton
Chicago lineup:
Payton/Crawford
Gordon/Crawford
Deng/Jerome Williams
Odom/Chandler
Curry/Chandler
Thats a nice young lineup and they get rid of the bad contract of ERob + a very nice veteran point to hold down the fort while Gordon develops. This trade factors in Crawford staying. This team makes the playoffs easy.

Here's a Kidd possibility...
New Jersey trades:
PG Jason Kidd
SG Lucious Harris
New Jersey receives:
PF Antoine Walker
PF Devin Harris
Dallas trades:
PF Antoine Walker
PF Devin Harris
Dallas receives:
PG Jason Kidd
SG Lucious Harris
TRADE ACCEPTED
*This trade would have to wait until 12/15, when Harris will be able to be traded
Nets: Get a stud young PG in Harris, whom could be a cornerstone of the franchise for 15 years. They also get Walker in the last year of his contract. They could choose to resign him, let him go, or trade him during the season.
Roster:
Harris/Vaughn
Planinic/Buford
Jefferson
Walker/Williams/Scalabrine
Krstic/Collins/Davis
Dallas: They get the best PG in the game to run the high-octane Dallas offense. This move would make Dallas an instant championship favorite.
Roster:
Kidd/Delk/Johnson
Finley/Stackhouse/Harris/Stefansson
Howard/Daniels/Abdul-Wahad/Najera
Nowitzki/Laettner
Bradley/Booth/Podkolzine/Ilunga-Mbenga
*If RealGM.com is right, Dallas have 17 players under contract for next season right now.

Just cause Jason Kidd's Knee was injured doesn't mean he's not gonna heal, and what it does he'll most likely go back to being the best point guard in the league.
So knock of the stupid trade proposals. He's not going anywhere without picks and major cap relief.

Why would Dallas let Nash walk due to the fact that he was aging and the contract he wanted was too much for Cuban to pay for an aging point.
Yet they go out and get Kidd who's older(i believe) with an even larger contract?
Makes absolutely no sense. They give up the heart and soul of their team just to bring in a point guard with a longer and larger contract coming off of knee surgery? Makes no sense at all.
If Buss is willing to bite the bullet and pay for Kidd, i think the Lakers are major players in getting him.

First of all Caron isn't being thrown in. Dallas is only offering Fatoine and Josh howard, our deal is equally good for money purposes and LA DOESN'T WANT HIM. Read the report LA doesn't want cap hell.

The Lakers are not going to be under the cap significantly this decade.

Exactly, the Lakers should stop being so damn stupid and go after him.
