Discuss Kidd & Nash
Kidd worth $5M more a year than Nash?
Kidd is a better passer, but Nash is a better shooter.
Who has better overall skills? Why didn't Mavs keep Nash?

Kidd can also play defense, and Nash can't.

I don't know how much D Kidd can play anymore, he's only 31, but that is very old for the PG position, add that to his knee thing now, he won't be able to keep up with the younger PG's...

A better statement would have been:
"Nash is a better shooter, but Kidd is better at everything else."

damn right i mean J-Kidd is the best passer, rebounder, playmaker, defender (except GP, or not ?) and stealer (AI not a PG) Point guard in the league... Nash is just a great shooter and good passer.. but he is awful on D...

jason kidd's defense has ALWAYS been overrated. it was overrated when he was with the phoenix suns. smaller quick pgs routinely ate him up. if he was allowed to play physical w/ 'em he had a chance, but otherwise, he just didn't have the lateral quickness to d them up. now, in the wake of the knees, i think his d will continue to suffer.
that said, i think the two of 'em bring different things to the table. depends on what your team needs. kidd is the consummate floor general. he sees things no one else sees. and he's a killer on the break. but nash is also very good on the break and his shooting is top notch. in fact, it is arguable that his shooting and playmaking make him a superior pg in a halfcourt set. he opens up the floor more. more spacing. arguably, for the suns, he is a better fit as he provides an inside/outside tandem with amare. kidd would not be as effective w/ the suns. however, w/ nowitzki's skills, i think jkidd might actually be the better fit. he'd create a lot of open shots for dirk. and, best of all, then you'd have a team with:
ason kidd (no "j" to speak of)
irk nowitzki (no "d" to speak of)
i'm so clever.

Nash is a better passer than Kidd. Just look at the assist to turnover ratio.
And Nash is #1 in assists per minute as well as #3 in assists per game.
Nash has 6yrs/60M$ on his contract with the last year not fully guaranteed. Kidd has like 100M$ on his contract.

Gimme a break. Shaq is a better shooter than Peja, just look at the field goal percentage.
