Hitman, hating on T-Mac and using the most rediculous logic I've ever seen in my life, like usual. Size is valuable. Does size equal being the better player? Hell no. Yao is valuable due to there being very few true centers in today's league, although I'd take a bunch of PF's before him. He's nowhere near Tracy's level of talent. He's just bigger.

Yao isnt dominant yet. The rule is you take a big man over a wing player, but obviously that doesnt apply if we're talking a level 2 big man vs. a level 1 wing player. If we're talking about a level 1 wing player (Tmac, Kobe) vs. a level 1 big man (TD, Shaq), you take the big man. Yao has yet to reach the dominant level of Shaq and TD, he is still at level 2.

Most general managers would take Yao over McGrady for the future, because he is really likely to become a level 1 dominant big man. I doubt a lot of general managers would have taken Yao over McGrady last season, and this upcoming season it would be a tossup, since Yao may begin to move up into level 1 a little bit.

Unless your name is Michael Jeffrey Jordan, i'll always take the great center over the great sg. There's a reason that most of the teams that have won titles had a dominant post presence.
I said for this upcoming year I would take Tmac. He is still obviously head and shoulders a better than Yao. If you don't see that you are just plain stupid. Tmac will get me closer to a championship than Yao will.

I am not sure about next season. There's a great chance Yao will
reach 20 pt 10 rbs while anchoring one of the best defense.

No way Houston is one of the best defenses next season. What defensive players do they have? Mo Taylor? Jim Jackson? Juwan Howard? Quit bull****ten yourself. Houston wont be a great defensive team next year and even if Yao does get 20/10/2 playing good defense do you not expect Tmac to avg 27/6/6 on a better fg % and better defense?

Jeff Van Gundy is an excellent defensive coach though. Thats really the biggest reason they had such a good defense last season.

Yes he is, and he can make players play D to a certain extent but they will not be a one of the best Defensive teams next year. And are you saying Yao will have a better year than Tmac?

haha, no, I'm saying that Houston will most likely be a top 5 defensive team. Defense falls a lot on the interior defense and the coaching. They've got those two aspects cornered nicely.

T-Mac will never reach Kobe's level. How do you feel about that?

Well this is a stupid thread then. Obviously Ming hasn't hit his full potential. But he's pretty damn good already and he's been in this country all of 2 years. So i'm gonna go ahead and predict he'll eventually become a dominant center. Therefore i'll take Ming over T-mac.
