He's also cutting team payroll while STILL putting out a competitive team that can do the damn thing.

The Mavs payroll will still be 2nd highest in the league next season, and they are going to be there for a while too. The contracts of Bradley, Booth, Stackhouse, Najera and Abdul-Wahad run for the next 3-4 seasons at a combined 30 million per season. Not to mention the max contracts of Dirk and Finley that run for the next 4 years, plus the contracts of all the young players. The Mavs are going to be in luxury tax for the next 3 season, even if they let the expiring contracts go. How exactly is Cuban cutting payroll ?

The mavs offered steve nash 11 million. He went to phoenix for 13 million after the mavs traded for him when he was a 3rd string pg and signed him TO A HUGE EXTENSION EVEN THOUGH HE'D NEVER BEEN A STARTING PG IN THE NBA IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER. The first 2 years he sucked badly. He did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHEN HE "WASN'T HURT" which was alot during that time.
So what should the mavs have done? gave a 5 year 65 million dollar deal to a player that is already 30 years old? LOL that's insane. Why do that when you got devin harris waiting in the wings?
|
You're very quick to turn on Nash, I bet you would have a different opinion if the Mavs did resign him.

Well you really put me in my place. Next time I will know not to agree with you. What the hell is your point? You said the Rockets are a near lock to make the playoffs and I agreed with you.
If you want to have a private conversation with ArtestFan why don't you give him your home phone number?

I don't know if anyone really reads the Mavs fourm but Cuban has pretty much gone the direction I've been wanting him to go all offseason. Getting younger, more athletic, and better on D all while staying competitive. I'm happy with my team now but I know the trading isn't done.
Booth/ DJ
Dirk/ CLatt
Howard/ Stack/ Finley
Daniels/ Finley/ Stack
Terry/ Harris/ Daniels
I wouldn't call it rebuilding as much as I would call it reloading and trying a new plan. One that doesn't involve 250 points scored in a game. The way this team is structured its time for Dirk to develop into the dominating offensive team leader if he doesn't it could be a long season. Terry, Stack, and Finley are all able to put up numbers but I doubt thats what Nelly had in mind.

Yes the Kings have been good, but they still have yet to reach the promise land despite almost always having the best regular season record. Also im not a wolves fan i just like KG, the rest of the team outside of spree and the alien suck. Iam a Lakers and Raptors fan. i jsut can't see Dallas winning the Title with Dirk unless they get a shaq,Duncan, or KG. If you replace KG with dirk on the Mavs i think they will go further in the playoffs and possibly win the championship.

Whoa, whoa calm down there buddy. I didn't mean it as "I'm not talking to you" sorta thing. Just wanted to make it clear. I didn't know if everyone knew I was directly responding to him. Stop with the insults, wasn't necessary. But I guess since you're a Maverick fan we're supposed to be enemies? jkin

no doubt man. wolves fans shouldn't really be talking. They've choked in round 1 7 outta the past eight years and make it out once and they can speak on other teams? that's hilarious

Blocking shots isnt defense. And Dirk isn't a defensive monster JUST because he averaged 3 per game in teh playoffs. I'll say it again, if Dirk wants to show people he is a good Defender, then why doesn't he average 3 bpg next year?
I could care less if Dirk played with bone spurs, he doesn't like to post up and he's a fricking Power Forward.
The Mavs won't win the title for a while, even with Dirk they won't win it.

so kg posts up? when? The only post move kg has is to catch the ball 15 feet away from the bucket and fade away. that's not "posting up" you could basically same the same that about jermaine oneal. He'll use a hook shot ocassionally but he does the exact same thing. catch the ball outside of the paint and then turn around and fade away
And I'd rather have dirk on my team shooting 46 percent from da f ield than a post player take 20 secs off the shot clock just to fade away and miss like Jermaine Oneal and K.G do.
It's kinda funny how Dirk shoots a HIGHER PERCENTAGE from the perimeter than Jermaine Oneal does who is an "alleged" post player
Then on top of the dirk does the exact same as kg and J.O do. He catches the ball on the blocks and fadesaway. So how is that any diff than what those other 2 guys do? LOL that's just not that smart at all.

He'll be a star but never a superstar because he can't play D for :cthread: And If you bring the 3bpg up then lets see him show that during the whole reg. season.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! so now all dirk does is stand on the perimeter like peja right? Dirk posts up. he takes peeps of the dribble. He shoots jumpers. stop making it seem like dirk is the german version of glen rice. that's hilarious. LOL@dirk not being a "superstar" riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Hes the biggest INTERNATIONAL star and is one of the top nba stars too. he's ALWAYS in the top10 in voting for the allstar game in the west. dirk has 10 times the heart kg has. He's single handidly willed the mavs to wins in the postseason. Yet the instant his team loses ONE TIME in round 1. He sucks. yet kg does that 7 outta 8 years and he's "dope"

Big flaming ad hominem. What the wolves has done in the past has nothing to do with the present conversation. The Mavs could be the best team of all time, and the Wolves the worst, but that doesn't make you right about your assessment of the mavs.
What it does do, as ad hominems always do, is show that your motivation isn't to have a mature intellectual debate, but rather try and "win" the argument at any cost, including the truth. Getting into a flame war of "my team's better than yours" is pretty pathetic for anyone of average intelligence or better to do.

man you could have fooled me. I mean it's not like terry was top 20 in assists on a hawks team that couldn't do much of anthing last year.
There's really nothing to answer. You don't have any facts to support the claims you make. Just babble alot of random opinions that you think mean something to anyone but yourself.
