2005 Surprise player
Who will be the surprise player for this year..... last year we had a few in Z Randolph and Joe Johnson, AK47 realy came into his own... so who do you think is ready to take that next step this year...and not somebody like Curry that everyone has been waiting on... i mean somebody that you thought would be a seconed tier p[layer when they came into the L.
My vote is going to Mike Sweetney if he gets the PT... this guy is like Elton Brand he just needs the PT to show it.
Your thoughts?

My pick for surprise player this year is Mickael Pietrus. I'm looking for J-Rich to get traded at some point in the near future to make way for Pietrus. The Warriors love him, and so do I, I think he's going to be a really good player now and in the future. He's one of my frontrunners for the MIP award and the 6th man award if he doesn't end up starting.

I agree with Tinsley. A lot of people are waiting on guys like Pietrus and Sweetney, because they're young. I think people have already labeled Tinsley as just a solid point guard, when I think he'll step it up to another level unexpectedly.

I think some guy from the Bobcats (wallace, kapono or house, maybe brezec) will come to his own mainly because of PT but still . . .

Guys like Pietrus and Tyson Chandler don't count because a lot of people are expecting big things from them.
My pick is Gordan Giricek. He will be an important offensive player for Utah next year and he'll make an All-Defensive team.

Well, the examples given were Kirilenko and Randolph... everyone knew they would have a breakout year last year.

Darius Miles
As a starter, he put up 14 ppg for the Blazers. Towards the end of the season he not only showed to be a consistant scorer, but a good defender. Possibly our best primeter defender.

If you don't want picks like Pietrus or Chandler, my pick is Dan Gadzuric.

I fully expect Miles to return to the old lazy, waste of talent Darius Miles we all know and hate. He has his big contract now, I don't expect his solid play to continue into this year.

I've always liked Dalembert and think he could really impress this year. Also Eddy Curry and Jiri Welsch could take their games to another level this season.
