He's still a starter I think...he's not what he once was, but he can still provide some good minutes.

He'll start because of the team he's on. But he probably shouldn't. I think Derek Fisher should have started over him in at least the finals of last year, and he's not a starting PG. I think it's close.

He is still very effective in the post.....when given the opportunity.
He can't guard perimeter players unless they're a spot up shooter, or really slow.

he can still score one on one off the dribble/in the post
as well as any pg
he still has excellent court vision
and he is a pretty good rebound guard becuz he is a 6'4 point
his defense sucks and he was never been a good shooter
but he can still produce

I expect Payton to bounce back this season. He's still better than a lot of starting point guards in the league. Mike James, Rafer Alston, Tony Delk, Chucky Atkins/Sasha Vujacic, Bob Sura/Charlie Ward/Tyronn Lue, and Marko Jaric for sure, and there are quite a few others that you can make arguments for.

Top15, he's still better than Jamaal Tinsley and Kirk Hinrich, who I consider around top15.

just 2 years ago gp was having 20pts 9 assists. last year, with a packed team of 4 hof, gp still managed to get 15pts 5.5assists. since gp's game does not require much youth and athleticism, only skill, he should still be able to play a good 4 or 5 years. i think gp still can put up numbers like 16+ pts 7+ ast on the right team.

People act like Payton only starting getting bad when he came to LA. He was like that with the Bucks too. He was starting to get like that in Seattle even.

Payton didn't start getting bad. Payton is still a top 15 pg, he just looked really bad in LA, especially during hte playoffs, but event though Tony Parker made him look like a fool, I still think the glove is better...
