What's sure is that the Hornets would never ever consider that trade.

The problem with the Hornets is not Baron Davis, it's the 11 other players (Magloire, Smith and West not included). Once he'll get the supporting (at least a decent one), then WATCH OUT.

First off, if you don't concider Jamaal Magloire the All-Star a good enough supporting player then I don't know what kind of player you are shooting for without trading BD. Second, as many people on this thread have already said, BD is a shoot-first PG, meaning that having a good supporting cast, unless for rebounding BD's missed shots wouldn't help him out. He's not like Jason Kidd who turned scrubs to stars with his amazing passes and ability to run a quality fast break.

First, maybe i should say it otherwise, if I had to rebuild the Hornets, the only players i'd keep would be BD, Magloire, West and Smith. Mags is steadily improving, West & Smith should be soon able to start but right now i's say it's a little to early to throw them in the fire (mainly Smith).

Second, BD is a shoot-first PG but don't dismiss his great court vision and passing abilities. Among the shoot-first PGs, he's probably the best at creating for the others, but as far as the Hornets are concerned, they have some big problems converting shoots (27th of the NBA in FG%) and BD shouldn't have to take that many shoots. If the Hornets had another scoring threat, BD would be much more efficient cuz he wouldn't have to support the offense pretty much all alone. With Scott as a coach, i expect to see more balance in the offense, especially with Magloire being the official 2nd option now.
