What tells you that? Points per shot? Yeah it's currently awesome for a guard but it's pretty much identical slighty worse than Amare Stoudemire.

Kobe ranks #6 in points per minute, #2 in FTA per minute. Amare ranks #1 in points per minute, #3 in FTA per minute, #1 in efficiency per minute and likely #7 in PPS.

basketballreference's ppfga stat pts/(fga+.44*fta) is better than just pps. for players averaging over 10 ppg, amare ranks 15th, kobe 30th. suprisingly, to me at least, ricky davis ranks #2 (haslem is #1).

He's been attacking the basket like a madman this year. He's probably shocked by all of the open space around the basket that he can't resist the temptation. I remember Nick Anderson driving alot more when Shaq left Orlando. Kobe also seems to have mastered the act of drawing a foul 25 feet from the basket. A simple pump fake and jumping up into the defender seems to do the trick everytime. It's funny when he pump fakes and the defender doesn't jump. He ends up throwing up a brick or traveling. Regardless, I'd love to see how productive he'll be when his shot starts to come around. He'll probably be closer to 43-44% by the end of the year than 40%.

1) He gets greenlight.
2) He doesnt get the open space that you overrate when it counts!
